The following are different types of cheats and or secrets to be found in RE7.

Unlockables

Upon completing the game, players stand the chance of unlocking new items that will appear in subsequent playthroughs or in any file loaded thereafter. These items will always appear in your Storage Box, and can be used at any time.

The following unlocks have been confirmed by Capcom.

Spot the Traps

At certain points in the game – and in Ethan Must Die, you may run into place where crates containing items may not contain items at all – and instead will explode upon breaking. While you might be able to hear a faint ticking if you get real close, and easy method to finding out if the crate is rigged is to use Psychostimulants or X-Ray Glasses. These items create small dots where any item is located, and if you spot a crate with no dot inside, you can safely assume that it is rigged to explode.

The Spencer Mansion Connection

The Baker’s Estate contains more than just a passing resemblence to the mansion from Resident Evil 1. In addition to the very familar looking Main Hall, there are also a couple of clues that have more interesting connections.

One noteworthy point is the picture that hangs in the the wall of the Main Hall, titled “Arklay Mountains”. Fans will recognize the name, as the mountain area where the Spencer Mansion was built was in these very same mountains, although the mansion cannot be seen in the picture.

A bigger tie in relates to the odd puzzles found throughout the mansion, that give a very strong Resident Evil 1 vibe. As Ethan points out during a Shadow Puzzle “Who builds this shit?” as it turns out – the same people. If you look for a note on the floor of the attic that points to the construction crew who installed the Shadow Puzzles – Trevor and Chamberlain Construction. These are the same people who were tasked with creating the Spencer Mansion and all of its secret passages.

Ashcroft Reporter

A notable Resident Evil character makes a guest apperance in the form of a newspaper article you can read in the Main Hall of the Main House. Titled “Over 20 Missing in 2 Years” a reporter by the name of Alyssa Ashcroft wrote the story, the same Alyssa who starred in Resident Evil Outbreak, and was personally caught up in the Raccoon City incident.

Fighting in the Streets

A possible nod to another Capcom game, you can find that one of the many books in the Kid’s Room on the second floor of the Old House is labeled “Fighting Street”, which may be a nod to the game “Street Fighter”.

Resident Evil 7 Biohazard contains numerous types of Collectibles. Some of these can be found for fun and for achievement, others for more story information – and some will unlock rewards.

  • Antique Coins: Used to unlock and obtain stat-boosting Consumables and Weapons. There are 18 on Easy and Normal Difficulty
  • See Also: Madhouse Antique Coins. There are 33 coins in new location only on the Madhouse Difficulty.
  • Files: Notes and documents that reveal more of the story and mystery surrounding the Baker Mansion and the darkness lurking within. There are 32 Files to find.
  • Mr. Everywhere Statuettes: Jingling bobbleheads that are hard to find – but reward an achievement when all 20 are found and broken.

Resident Evil 7 Biohazard is full of Items necessary to survive your ordeal in the Baker Mansion and beyond. These items are often hard to find, but will aid you immensely as you seek to survive, solve puzzles, and uncover mysteries.

Items are broken down into the following types. Click on an item type to learn more about them, how are they used, and where they can be found.

  • Consumables – These items are special one-time use items that can be exchanged to perform certain actions – like healing or increasing your stats, or even used in crafting.
  • Ammo – Used to replenish your weapons vital ammunition, and are often hard to come by.
  • Keys – One of the most important items, these are used to unlock new areas or find hidden treasure.
  • Key Items – these items are important to your adventure, often providing valuable clues like VHS Tapes, or are relevant to the plot.

Some people love playing video games by themselves, games that allow them to play through story lines and unique maps without needing to connect with the internet or play with other players. However, a large majority of people love to play online in competitive (or team) games that challenge players to be the very best.

Some of the most popular games in the industry have millions upon millions of players; gathered below are the five most-played MMO PC games as of right now (yes as of the very second I am writing this).

6. Counter Strike: Global Offensive

The second most played game on Steam, and the fourth most popular MMO, Counter Strike: Global Offensive is one of the youngest games on the list. The fourth game in the Counter Strike family came out in 2012 and was the best selling MMO of that year, with more than 12 million copies sold. However, the game didn’t really explode into popularity until two years ago. Today, nearly 3 million players join the game every month, though with more than 250 million hours of game play, those players spend quite a lot of time in the game.

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is an online first-person shooter developed by Hidden Path Entertainment and Valve Corporation. If you’re interested in playing the game, you can buy it from Steam by clicking here.

5. World of Warcraft

Last year, World of Warcraft lost more than 40% of its subscribers, however, they still remain a force to be reckoned with, garnering the coveted third spot on the most played list. World of Warcraft saw a slight boost in players this month, most likely due to the upcoming release of Blizzard’s new game Overwatch (which I am extremely excited to play.) Currently, WoW has about 5.5 million players each month.

World of Warcraft is the fourth released game set in the fantasy Warcraft universe, which was first introduced in Warcraft: Orcs & Humans in 1994. It was released in 2004 and in the twelve years since then, has been at the top of such lists like this several times. Also, the super popular game is got the movie treatment this year, and despite being rather polarizing to a lot of fans and critics, I would suggest any fan of the game checks out the movie!

4. Dota 2

Dota 2 toppled the Blizzard giant in terms of numbers less than two years ago. It is the most played game on Steam. Dota 2 has about 15 million unique players (nearly twice the amount of WoW), with roughly one million players signing in each day.

Dota 2, as the name might suggest, is the second game in the Dota series created by Valve. If you’re interested in eSports (you know, the cooler realm of sports that you can watch online) the Dota 2 website frequently has live videos of tournaments going on, some of which you can watch by clicking here.

3. Overwatch

The only new addition to this list, Overwatch have managed to secure 20 million unique registered players (important distinction, 20 million players, not 20 million copies sold). Since its release earlier this year, Overwatch has managed to become a huge game, and evidently a huge (and needed) pay off for Blizzard. For those of you who aren’t familiar with the game, Overwatch is a first-person shooter with unique, creative characters and an artistic aesthetic unlike any other shooter.

If you aren’t already playing the fastest growing MMO shooter in the world, I only have one question for you: Why not?!?

2. Hearthstone

Another Blizzard game makes the list! And this one beats out Overwatch by 30 million players. Hearthstone had more than 50 million players log in last month, which means more people play Hearthstone than the three games above combined. Despite coming in second, Hearthstone is actually the most popular game to watch in the world of eSports, and since it has that distinction, Hearthstone competitors get paid the most amount of money to play in eSports tournaments (sometimes millions of dollars).

League of Legends has dominated the online market since at least 2012. Four years ago, the massively popular game had about 12 million people a day, and about 32 million unique players every month. The game has now grown to an impressive 100 million players a month who play the game for more than one billion hours. For those of you playing at home, that means that League of Legends has four times as many players than our number three on this list and twice the number of Hearthstone players. If you aren’t already playing it, what’s stopping you?

So what’s the take away from all of this? Blizzard and Valve really know what they are doing. Sure neither of them take the top spot, but 3 out of 6 ain’t bad. Despite the drastic loss of players WoW has had over the years, it still makes it into the top five. Blizzard should be happy that Overwatch quickly ranked in the top three, as nearly everyone who games has played the game at some point, as the future looks promising for Activision Blizzard. If you’ve been looking for a new MMO to play, and aren’t already playing the six most popular games of today, maybe it’s time to start.

Big Horizon: Zero Dawn Update Out Today, Here’s What It Does

The latest update for Horizon: Zero Dawn arrives later today, and it’s a big one. While much of it deals with unexciting (but welcome) things like fixes for bugs and progression issues, it also introduces two options that existing players will welcome.

The first of update 1.30’s big additions is New Game+ mode. In fairly standard fashion, this allows you to play through the game after completing it without sacrificing the items you’ve collected or the experience you’ve accumulated. Horizon’s level cap remains 50, though Guerrilla notes you can still collect experience while playing. Along the way, modified versions of weapons and outfits from the standard game that feature an extra modification slot will be available. However, these are particularly pricey.

Additionally, a new difficulty setting, Ultra Hard mode, has been added. Playing on this difficulty “will enhance machine senses and behavior and will limit player health regen and other additional smaller tweaks,” Guerrilla explained in a PlayStation Blog post. You can opt for this level of challenge at the beginning of the game, but you won’t be able to lower the difficulty once you’ve done so.

New Game+ offers the opportunity to earn a pair of new Trophies. One is for simply completing New Game+, while the other is for doing so while playing on Ultra Hard. Neither of these counts toward Horizon’s Platinum Trophy. Full patch notes can be seen below.

Guerrilla Games’ latest patch looks to solve issues with some of Horizon Zero Dawn’s most recent features.Previous Horizon Zero Dawn updates included the New Game + mode and Ultra Hard difficulty, which have needed some fine tuning.

Speaking about the latest build, a Guerrilla Games statement explains: “We’re pleased to announce that Patch 1.31 for Horizon Zero Dawn is available now.

“This patch fixes a number of technical issues, issues that occurred with New Game + and Ultra Hard difficulty, progression issues and crashes.”

Like previous PS4 games updates, patch 1.31 comes with a long list of changes and improvements, which can be found below.

As always, Guerrilla Games warns that the patch notes they have released could contain some big game spoilers for those who have yet to reach the end.

“If you encounter an issue while playing Horizon Zero Dawn, please try reloading a recent manual save, quicksave or autosave from the “Load” menu option.”

“If the issue persists, please take screenshots of the area where it occurred and your location on the map, and forward them to us for further investigation.”

General Fixes

  • Fixed an issue where for certain players hitting an armour plate with a bomb while the machine is frozen would cause more damage than intended.
  • Fixed an issue where for some players the statistics of the Tearblaster were incorrectly displayed in the weapon wheel.
  • Fixed an issue where for certain players heavy melee damage was the same on different difficulty levels.
  • Fixed an issue in “The Looming Shadow” where for some players two guards would disappear after Blameless Marad speaks to them.
  • Fixed an issue where for some players the auto save at the start of “Mother’s Heart” would not display the name of the quest and the player’s level indicator.

Progression issue fixes

  • Fixed an issue in “Deep Secrets of the Earth” where certain players would become trapped in a room if they solved the Power Puzzle while leaving the enemies guarding it alive. This fix requires a reload in order for it to work.

  • Fixed an issue in New Game+ “The Point of the Spear” where for some players loading an auto save after speaking to Rost at his home would start from Karst’s location rather than near Rost.
  • Fixed an issue in New Game+ “A Seeker at the Gates” where for certain players the objective ‘Override a Strider’ would remain on screen when using the Call Mount skill.
  • Fixed an issue in New Game + where certain players were not able to enter or fast travel to Sunfall with the Adept Shadow Stalwart armour equipped.
  • Fixed an issue in New Game+ where some players with the Adept Blast Sling were granted access to the Shock Trial in the Valleymeet Hunting Grounds, despite not having Shock ammo.
  • Fixed an issue in New Game+ where some players with the Adept Blast Sling were granted access to the Freeze Trial in the Valleymeet Hunting Grounds, despite not having Freeze ammo.
  • Fixed an issue in New Game+ where for some players kills with the Adept Tripcaster were not counted towards the Blast Wire Trial in the Nora Hunting Grounds.
  • Fixed an issue in New Game+ where certain players were able to carry over heavy weapons from their normal game to their New Game+ loadout.
  • Fixed an issue when playing on Ultra Hard mode where for some players shard values in player created errands are not updated when switching to a lower difficulty.

New Trophies, unlockables and more come with patch 1.30

We were so excited to be able to announce the upcoming Horizon Zero Dawn expansion, The Frozen Wilds, at E3 this past month. As we were wrapping Horizon Zero Dawn, we had a lot of ideas for new characters, quests, and places for Aloy to discover, so we started to develop The Frozen Wilds. We can’t wait for you to experience the dangerous frigid lands to the north!

As of today, you can download patch 1.30 which includes additional fixes to progression issues which some of you may have encountered. However, it also includes the highly anticipated New Game+ option.

With New Game+ you will be able to relive the adventures of Aloy without losing your character progression and your collected inventory. You won’t be able to progress beyond the level cap of 50, but you can still collect XP during your adventure.

We have also added updated versions of existing weapons and outfits with an extra modification slot at their disposal. These will not come cheap and will set you back some extra shards.

Before embarking on a new quest you can manually adjust the difficulty level to your liking. For players who seek an extra challenge, we are also introducing an ‘Ultra Hard’ difficulty.

This new setting will enhance machine senses and behavior and other additional smaller tweaks. Players who decide to embark on the Ultra Hard path will not have the option to switch it to a less difficult setting when choosing New Game+. People choosing to play normal game will still have the ability to change back to an easier difficulty.

New Game+ also comes with 2 new Trophies and extra unlockables like the ability to add facepaint or change Aloy’s Focus.

SILTBREAKER CHANGES
* Introduced Adventure Mode, available in Act 1 and Act 2: players start and gain more lives, and enemies have less health and deal less damage. Star rewards, achievements, and Artifacts are disabled in this mode.
* 9 new Heroes have been added to the pool of available heroes.
* Abaddon has been removed from the pool of available heroes.
* Significantly increased the drop rate of many Artifacts.
* Artifact drops in game now ensure that all players have a received an Artifact this session and that the Artifact is not a duplicate for that player before switching to a random distribution (was previously entirely random).
* Introduced a new type of currency, Artifact Coins. Artifact Coins are persistent between play sessions and are consumed to activate your existing Artifacts in game. They are earned for completing zones and can be found as drops from enemies. Artifacts found during a game do not require a cost in that game, and there is no Act restriction on Artifacts.

Dota 2 Update – May 31st, 2017

* As an experimental change for a few days, All Pick will now have 25 heroes randomly removed from the hero pool at the start of the draft before the ban phase. This change only affects Ranked Matchmaking.

* In today ™s update we are changing how commands are processed in Dota to address some user input contention and improve responsiveness. Previously if you cast a spell and before it finished casting, you cast two spells afterwards, only the last spell would be cast. The order queue was only 1 deep effectively. This usually has no practical impact, except for things with really fast/instant cast time done in sequence. Here are a few examples of how the behavior would be different:

Example 1:

Axe casts battle hunger. While the cast animation is playing, Axe quickly uses a Blink Dagger and then Berserker ™s Call.

Old Rules: Only Berserker ™s Call is cast. The blink dagger order is ignored.
New Rules: Axe will use the Blink Dagger, then cast Berserker ™s Call.

Example 2:

Puck casts Illusory Orb. Puck then casts Dream Coil. While the cast animation of Dream Coil is playing, Puck quickly casts Ethereal Jaunt and Waning Rift.

Old Rules: Only Waning Rift would have triggered and Puck would not have teleported with Ethereal Jaunt.
New Rules: Puck teleports with Ethereal Jaunt and then casts Waning Rift in the new location.

This change applies generally to all orders that are issued when your hero is in another action (like during a cast animation or while stunned), and the order needs to enter the queue. Issuing a movement command or stop will still empty the queue same as before, if you decide you no longer want to issue the orders in the queue.
